IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of RIT is the First Computer Society in IEEE Kerala Section. IEEE CS SBC RIT is dedicated to empowering the student members for advancing technology through learning, collaboration, and sharpening their professional skills in the areas of computer science and engineering.

81st Rank in IEEE PES High-Performance Student Branch Chapter Program

IEEE PES SBC RIT was ranked eighty-first position in IEEE PES Global High-Performance Student Branch Chapter Program. The Student Branch Chapter focused on sorting out numerous events to furnish its student members with a platform for introducing new ideas and engaging in networking activities. The initiative taken in the past few years were continued to empower existing student members. These endeavours have been successful in the year 2018-19 objectives.

IEEE PES SBC RIT- the fourth largest Student Branch Chapter

IEEE PES SBC RIT was ranked globally the fourth-largest Student Chapter for the notable increase in membership in the year 2018-2019. IEEE PES SBC RIT is one among the distinguished technical society chapters in IEEE Kerala Section. IEEE PES is a platform for sharing scientific and engineering knowledge about electric power and energy. There is a significant increase in the number of people joining PES every year understanding it's goals and objectives.

With a great deal of hardwork, determination and perseverance, IEEE SB RIT secured first prize in Let's Innovate,the innovation challenge conducted by IEEE LINK in association with IEEE SIGHT Kerala Section and IEEE Kerala Young Professionals. With great contentment and pride, IEEE SB RIT extends heartfelt congratulations to the team members, Kallu Sudarsan(S4 ECE), Abhishek Shag (S4 ECE), Vysakh T (S4 CSE) and Mufeetha OC (S4 ME) for their project, Moblie App Controlled Low-Cost UVC Disinfection Robot. Calculated risk taking ability topped by the team's potential to come up with distinguished solutions uplifted the SB to a new height of success. Thus, IEEE SB RIT once again proved their attitude of excellence in a different domain.

IEEE SB RIT is so overwhelmed by the joy of the technical talk conducted by IEEE IAS SBC RIT being selected as the best event conducted as a part of WIE Week celebrations organized by IEEE IA/IE/PELS Jt. Chapter Kerala. The talk was well orchestrated by our IAS SBC, the session was handled by Anu George (V SAC KOCHI HUB), Ameera Sherin (WiE -Coordinator Link), Adheena Abraham (Content Writer IA/IE/PELS Jt, Chapter), Shibiliya Ismail (WiC– CS Kerala Chapter) and Kallu Sudarsan(IAS Travel Grant Recipient). With great pleasure, the SB extends its deepest gratitude to all its members.

With a great deal of hard work, determination and perseverance, IEEE SB RIT achieved the Best Student Branch Award of IEEE Kochi Subsection in the year 2019. The roots of this honour lie in the extraordinary commitments and efforts put forward by the SB in their journey of learning and volunteering.

IEEE SB RIT organized a joint SB initiative program, ‘ZEAL’, under IEEE Region 10, to revitalize and reinvigorate IEEE SB GECI. As a result of the initiative, IEEE SB GECI became more active, increasing its membership count from 8 to 75. Zeal was bestowed with the IEEE Kerala Section Best Event Award in the year 2019. IEEE SB RIT extends its heartfelt congratulations to the team for their milestone achievement.

With great pride and respect, IEEE SB RIT extends its heartfelt congratulations to Assoc. Prof. Anu George, Branch Counselor of IEEE SB RIT, for winning the Outstanding Branch Counselor Award of IEEE Kochi Subsection in the year 2019. Her skills in organizing workloads, studiousness and sedulousness made her rise to a passionate teacher and a dedicated branch counselor. The SB is always thankful for her immense support, sincere guidance and inspiration that uplifted the SB in various domains.

IEEE SB RIT extends its heartfelt congratulations to Abhijith K for winning the Best Volunteer Award of IEEE Kochi Subsection in the year 2019. Being the IEEE SB RIT Chairperson and an outstanding volunteer, Abhijith has organized quality activities and events for the growth and professional development of student members. The SB is thankful for his diligence, hard work and leadership skills that improved the membership satisfaction and retention.

Chapter, Kerala Section as content writer. Congratulations to the hardworking and proactive mindset of Adheena that lifted her to a new height of success.

Richard E Merwin Scholarship

Richard E Merwin Scholarship is awarded to the IEEE Computer Society members to recognize and reward dynamic student volunteer pioneers in student branches or chapters who promise in their scholarly and expert endeavours. The scholars of the REM scholarship among the members of IEEE CS SBC RIT were Ajay Mohan( 2012), Pavin Prasad Abraham (2012), and Nithin George Charuvila( 2011). IEEE SB RIT congratulates the scholars for their sincere efforts on achieving the scholarship.
