About Rajiv Gandhi Institute Of Technology


Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology has made a name for itself as one of the top technical institutions in Kerala. It is one of the nine Government Engineering Colleges fully owned and run by the Government of Kerala. The college started functioning in 1991, and is named after late Prime Minister Sri. Rajiv Gandhi. The Government has started this institution with the view of making it a centre of excellence for under-graduate, post-graduate and research studies in engineering. The college is affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. RIT, the sanctum of technology, aims at providing high quality education for talented students from all sections of the society. Owned and managed by the Government of Kerala, it has a highly qualified and dedicated faculty. More than providing technical education, RIT aims at the overall development of each and every RITian. The college provides a positive environment for the students to develop their potentials and to excel in all walks of life. The college regenerates itself in greater and higher dimensions of technology, articulating scientific thirst and common mobs' necessities.

About IEEE SB RIT


One of the most vibrant and significant student branches in the Kerala section, IEEE SB RIT, has made a mark for itself over the years. We have come a long way from participating in various inter-SB IEEE programs to hosting our events. It is one of the oldest and most active student branches in the Kerala section, with around 150 members joining each year.

IEEE RIT SB has always believed in providing its student members opportunities to develop and showcase their skills and research at higher platforms. The active and enthusiastic indulgence of the student branch has led to the commencement and the organization of a series of events, providing a plethora of opportunities for various participants in and out of the campus.

At IEEE SB RIT, we offer an immersive experience in a world of technical excellence and knowledge gain. Through networking and volunteering experiences, members gain valuable skills and connect with like-minded individuals who share their passion for innovation and discovery. The eagerness of the student members to actively put in the effort and participate in various programs encourages and attracts other students to the SB. We strive towards fulfilling our goals of spreading the joy of volunteering and providing a platform to mold successful engineers each day.

    TECHFUSE

    TECHFUSE, a two-day hybrid technical workshop, was successfully organized by IEEE SPS SBC RIT in collaboration with IEEE SPS Kerala Chapter on February 8-9, 2025, at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam. As part of the Chapter Driven Initiative Cycle 2 Proposal 2024, the event aimed to bridge the gap between theory and practice by equipping participants with essential skills in modern electronics and digital systems. It featured three hands-on workshops on PCB Design, IoT, and Verilog, along with an online familiarization session to prepare attendees. The event also included talk sessions and panel discussions, providing industry insights and fostering meaningful interactions among participants and professionals.

    REX 5.0

    Robotics Experience Program is the flagship event of the IEEE RAS SBC RIT. IEEE RAS SBC RIT conducted REX 5.0 - the fifth edition of the award-winning, month-long hybrid robotics specialization program, from 18th October to 20th of October 2024. The fundamental aim of the program was to extend knowledge in the fields of robotics and automation to a bunch of passionate minds to benefit them in their fields of interest and the welfare of society. The program sought to refine the quality of industrial exposure provided to students by introducing students to the current skills and technical knowledge required in robotics and automation.

    AKPESSC 2023

    AKPESSC'23, organised by IEEE PES Kerala Chpater, was successfully hosted by IEEE SB RIT. The 3-day event, welcoming a participation of 120 delegates was based on the theme, "Sustainability: The Path to a Greener Future".
